About these terms

These terms apply to the website design, development, redesign, maintenance and related services that StackMIME (“we”, “us”), based in Pakistan, provides to you (“the client”).

Your written quote or proposal sets out the scope, the price and the timeline. If your quote and these terms say different things, your quote wins. You accept these terms when you accept a quote or make the first payment.

Quotes and scope

  • We start with a short, free call of 10 to 15 minutes to understand your business and what the website needs to do.
  • Within 48 hours of the call, we send your quote: the price for your project, a written scope and a timeline. The quote says how long it stays valid.
  • The price covers the scope written in the quote. Anything new is priced and approved by you in writing before we start it, so there are no surprises.
  • Calls, emails and check-ins are free. We don’t bill by the hour.

Payment

  • 50% to book your start. The first payment confirms your project and your start date.
  • 50% to go live. The final payment is due when your website is built, tested and ready to launch. We put the website live once it is paid.
  • Saudi Arabia: pay in Saudi riyals (SAR), locally, through our representative in Saudi Arabia.
  • Pakistan: pay in Pakistani rupees (PKR) by local bank transfer.
  • Other countries: transfer the agreed amount in your own currency at the day’s exchange rate, or pay through Payoneer.

Your quote or invoice says how bank and transfer fees are handled. If a payment is late, we may pause work until it arrives.

Timelines and your part

Typical timelines are 1 to 3 weeks for a Starter website and 3 to 4 weeks for a Business website. Growth projects follow the timeline in the quote. Your quote confirms the dates.

Timelines start once we have your content and approvals, and may vary slightly with our workload and your requirements. To keep to them, you agree to:

  • send the text, images, logos and access details we need;
  • answer questions and review designs within a reasonable time;
  • tell one person on your side to give approvals.

If a project waits on you for a long time, we agree a new timeline with you.

Design revisions

You follow the work on a private preview link from the start. Two rounds of design revisions on real pages are included. Further rounds, or changes to a design after you have approved it, are quoted before we make them.

Your content

  • You supply the text, images, logos and other material for your website, unless your quote includes our copywriting or translation add-ons.
  • You confirm that you own this material or have permission to use it, and that it doesn’t break any law.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your website, such as prices, services and legal notices.
  • We don’t provide photography.

Who owns the website

When the final payment is made, ownership of your website’s design, code and content passes to you. Until then, we keep it.

  • Our own plugins (such as SM Forms, SM Mail and SM SEO) included in your website are licensed for use on your website. The plugin code stays ours.
  • Third-party plugins, fonts and services are covered by their own licences.
  • Templates: if your website starts from one of our templates, the template itself stays ours and may be used for other clients. Your version, your brand and your content are yours. See the Design licence.

Confidentiality and showing our work

We keep the information you share about your business confidential and use it only for your project. We never name your business or show your website in our portfolio, on social media or anywhere else without your written permission.

Domain, hosting and other costs

  • Your domain name and hosting are registered in your name and paid by you to the providers. We recommend a host that suits your website and set it up for you, or work with your current host.
  • Domain and hosting fees, paid plugins, third-party services, copywriting, translation and new features after launch are not included unless your quote says so.
  • We are not responsible for outages, price changes or other decisions made by those providers.

Support after launch and care plans

Every package includes support after launch: 3 months with Starter, 6 months with Business and 12 months with Growth. It covers:

  • fixing anything that doesn’t work as agreed;
  • WordPress and plugin updates;
  • backups;
  • help with editing your content.

New pages or features are quoted separately. When your support period ends, you can choose a care plan. Each care plan runs for the term you choose and isn’t cancelled part-way through. At the end of the term, you decide whether to renew.

Search rankings and results

We build every website to Google’s guidelines and to current standards for speed, structure and search. Search engines decide rankings themselves, so we can’t promise any position, amount of traffic or number of enquiries.

Limits of liability

We take reasonable care in everything we do. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the project or service the claim relates to. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost business, or for problems caused by your hosting provider or other third parties.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Cancelling a project

You or we can end a project by writing to the other. You pay for the work done up to that point, and payments are handled as our Refund policy explains.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. If we disagree about anything, we will first try to resolve it by talking. If that doesn’t work, the courts of Islamabad, Pakistan, will decide. Any rights you have under the mandatory laws of your own country still apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown when you accept your quote applies to your project, unless we both agree otherwise in writing.
